Business Education Online
September 19-20, 2016
Welcome to the Wharton School’s inaugural Business Education Online Learning Summit: The Future of Education at Work on Wharton’s campus September 19-20, 2016.
This invitation-only event for academic leaders in business education and senior leaders in industry will focus on the emerging opportunities for on-campus and on-the-job education. We will also address correlated topics related to online learning as we are living through historically significant shifts in traditional business education. The summit will be a mix of facilitated conversations and plenary sessions to generate key insights for senior leaders to take back to campus.
Dean Geoff Garrett will be leading the opening panel discussion on the evening of the 19th that will set the tone for discussions on the 20th.
The following themes will be addressed over the course of conference:
What is the relevance of business schools in the new credentialing economy?
What is the value of these new credentials? Of the MBA in this new marketplace? What are pricing strategies?
What are the roles and responsibilities to this new population of learners around the world and at work?
The Business Education Online Summit is taking place in Huntsman Hall, one of the most sophisticated large-scale instructional centers in the world. With its warm natural finishes of wood, brick and stone, reflecting the historic significance of surrounding buildings on the University campus, it connects Wharton to the world. The $139.9-million, 324,000 square-foot facility – named Jon M. Huntsman Hall after the Wharton alumnus, corporate leader, and philanthropist – opened in August, 2002. The building is located at 38th and Walnut Streets on the University of Pennsylvania campus in Philadelphia.
