Traveling by Air
If you are planning to travel by air, you will be flying into Philadelphia International Airport (code PHL). Wharton is a short taxi ride or Regional Rail ride from the airport. For information about how to take mass transit from the airport, click on the following link.
If you are planning on parking in Philadelphia overnight, consider the following list of UPenn Visitor Parking lots.
We recommend taking Regional Rail into Philadelphia or to use a ride-hailing App (such as Uber and Lyft). However, if a taxis is preferrable, here is a list of local Philadelphia taxi companies:
Traveling by Amtrak/Regional Rail
Take Amtrak or Regional Rail to 30th Street Station. From there you can take a cab ride, or SEPTA (our local subway system) to your destination.
Philadelphia’s local subway system is called SEPTA. Here is a map of our subway system. If you intend to take mass transit, we recommend that you download the SEPTA app to have easy access to ride schedules. Just search SEPTA in your App Store.
