The Venture Lab Startup Challenge, sponsored by Eric Aroesty, C’92, attracts the best and brightest entrepreneurial minds from across the Penn community as they compete for a chance to win $150,000 in cash and prizes. Each year, nearly 100 student ventures apply for a chance to pitch their ideas in front a panel of notable alumni judges, ranging from fellow entrepreneurs to venture capitalists.
Originally launched as the Wharton Business Plan Competition, and rebranded in 2016, the annual event has grown to feature student ventures from more than half of Penn’s twelve schools, serving as a launch pad for numerous alumni companies such as Aavrani, Halo, Strella Biotechnology, Twine, and more.
